How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
To operate the service
Your account data is used to authenticate you and give you access to your personal dashboard. Your inventory and transaction records are stored so you can view, edit, and analyze them across sessions and devices.
To provide card pricing
When you use Camera Scan or search for a card, we send the card name and set information to market pricing APIs to return live price data. No personally identifiable information is included in these requests.
To improve FlipBook
Anonymized usage data helps us understand which features are most used, where users encounter problems, and how to prioritize future development. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
To communicate with you
We may send transactional emails related to your account, such as password resets or important service notices. We will not send you marketing emails without your explicit consent, and you may opt out of any non-essential email at any time.
Data Storage and Security
All FlipBook data is stored in Supabase, a managed database platform hosted on infrastructure certified to industry security standards. We use row-level security (RLS) policies, which means the database enforces at the query level that each user can only read and write their own records. Even in the event of a misconfigured application layer, the database will not return another user's data.
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher. Passwords are hashed using a strong one-way algorithm and are never stored in plain text.
While we take commercially reasonable measures to secure your data, no system is completely immune to risk. If you discover a security vulnerability, please contact us immediately at FlipBookSupport@gmail.com.
Sharing Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Your inventory, transaction history, and account data are never shared with other FlipBook users or made publicly visible.
We may disclose information in the following limited circumstances:
Service providers
We work with a small number of trusted service providers to operate FlipBook. These include Supabase for database hosting and authentication, and pricing API providers for market data. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing the services we have engaged them for.
Legal requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a lawful government request.
Business transfers
If FlipBook is acquired by or merged with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Third-Party Services
FlipBook integrates with or links to the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy that governs how it handles data.
| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication, and row-level security |
| TCGPlayer / PriceCharting | Live market pricing for Pokémon cards and graded slabs |
| Google Fonts | Typography delivery via CDN |

We do not use advertising networks, tracking pixels, or any third-party analytics that build profiles of individual users.
